Liberty Run

Start off your Saturday, by participating in our Annual Liberty Run 1 Mile, 5K, or 10K! This scenic walking, running, wheelchair, hand-bike, and stroller-friendly race is open to all ages.

Run, walk or stroll the beautiful 3.1 mile or 6.2 mile flat, fast and accurate courses through neighborhood streets and the natural beauty of the Lower Rouge Trail. Liberty Run entry includes a Shirt and finisher's medals for all distances, and theme awards!

The 2023 theme will be: Liberty! So, wear your red, white, and blue. 

As always, a portion of your entry fee will help fund recreation and trail improvement in Canton Township! Yes, you can do this! Get ready with these training schedules. Anyone can be ready to line up and finish this event!

Registration

Online pre-registration is now open at Canton Liberty Run.

In-person registration will be available during packet pick-up on both Friday and Saturday.

Packet Pick-Up

Friday, June 17, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Summit on the Park front loop (46000 Summit Parkway, Canton), or race morning (Saturday, June 18) 6:30 a.m. until 15 minutes before the start of your race.

Race Routes

All races start at the clock tower located on the east end of the park, near the library and administration building. The 5K and 10K are open to walkers, runners, and strollers. The course winds through local neighborhoods and the Lower Rouge Recreation Trail. The 1 Mile takes participants throughout the festival in Heritage Park.

Race Day Parking, Start/Finish Line Locations

Race day parking will be located throughout Heritage Park. It is recommended that early arrivals park in the Library and Administration parking lots located at 1150 Canton Center Road South. Other parking will be available in lots along Heritage Drive. The start/finish line will be located at the Clock Tower, near the east end of the park.

Race Volunteers

Adult volunteers are needed for set-up, aid stations, packet pick-up and tear down both Friday and Saturday. Volunteer sign-up will take place beginning mid-April on the race website. You do not need to have any race experience, just need to be excited to support all of the walkers, runners, wheelchair racers, hand-bike racers, and strollers that will be out on the big day!
