Experience music, dance, and drama from around the world when Canton’s International Festival returns to The Village Theater at Cherry Hill on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This annual cultural and educational festival celebrates the diversity of Canton and surrounding communities through song and dance on the main stage of The Village Theater, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road, Canton, MI, 48187.
This year’s featured performers: Taiji Stream – Yong Style Tai Chi; Yangtze Melody Group; The Tim O’Hare Traditional School of Irish Dance, Ann Arbor & Plymouth; Calivia Dance Group with Jessie Li; Heart Melody Group; Asian Indian Dance with Parul Shah; Canton Qi Pao Team with Grace Fei; Sunshine Children’s Choir with Sherry Yan; Polish National Alliance Centennial Dancers Lodge #53; The Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan; Inner-action Dance with Sharon Kang and Anna Lou; The Troy Chinese Classic Music Guzheng Team; The O’Kennedy Irish Dance School; Michelle Zhang, Soloist; Fei Zhou, Belly Dance; Kayla Li, Soloist; Dai Dance; Bollyburn Dancers; Hoaloha-Polynesian, New Zealand & Tahitian Dance; Ann Hua Dance; Kuchipudi Dance Group with Sailaja Pullela; Michigan New Century Chinese School (MNCCS); and Ann Arbor Jade Dance Studio.
Cultural Displays, vendor tables, and an International Sweets Table offering treats from local stores and bakeries will be located in the lobby during the performance.
Bring the whole family and travel the globe through music, dance and more. This event is presented by the all-volunteer Multicultural Committee of the Canton Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Tickets are just $2 per person at the door; cash only. Audience members can get their hand stamped and come and go as they please throughout the day. Seating for this main stage production is general admission.
The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is a regional center for the arts that offers the magic of live theatre, soul-stirring music, the thrill of the dance, and the enjoyment of fine art exhibitions and events, in addition to providing a home for several cultural organizations and community groups.
