Famers Market Produce

The Canton Farmers Market will returned and will take place every Sunday now through Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Preservation Park, located 500 N. Ridge Road. Please note that new safety guidelines are in place to provide a safe environment.  Shoppers can now  take advantage of fresh food and local merchandise this market season rain or shine on market dates.

All market-goers, vendors and farmers market staff are required to wear face masks and market-goers are also strongly encouraged bring their own bags from home to carry their purchases.  In addition, the market shopping area will be fenced off with only one entrance and exit, located off of Ridge Road. Hand sanitizer will be available at these locations. Market-goers are asked to follow the directional signage, as well as social distancing protocols and should only point to products for vendor assistance. As current Executive Order gatherings’ size limitations remain in place, market-goers may be asked to cue and wait before accessing the market grounds depending on crowd sizes. Please note that no cooking demonstrations, kids’ craft, or live music will be available.  In addition, no food sampling will be allowed.

“The Canton Farmers Market staff and vendors are excited to open the regular market season offering fresh local goods at our weekly Sunday markets, but with new safety protocols in place to create a safe and positive shopping experience,” said Canton Farmers Market Supervisor Jennifer Franz. “There are so many benefits to buying locally, so we are happy to once again be able to provide this access to local produce and merchandise.”

Local vendors returning this season will include: Pick MI offering produce, eggs, and tortillas; The Cheese People of Grand Rapids offering cheese; Kapnick Orchard, offering apples, berries, and breads; and Lula Bre’s Sweet Eats offering jams.

Bridge Cards are also accepted at the Canton Farmers Market.  Participants may bring their Bridge Card to the Bartlett-Travis House to exchange your SNAP Dollars for Market Tokens, and double the spending on fresh fruits and vegetables with Double Up Food Buck.! The Market also accepts WIC Project Fresh and Senior Project Fresh.
