ART EXHIBITS AT THE VILLAGE THEATER
This month the Gallery @ VT will showcase the 24th Annual Canton Fine Arts Exhibition

Featuring over 40 works on display. Our 24th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition Juror is EmmaJean Woodyard.
EmmaJean Woodyard has been a staunch advocate and nurturer of the arts in Michigan for 30+ years and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Dearborn Community Fund (DCF) whose mission is to provide support for cultural, arts and recreation activities for Dearborn residents. She has launched such programs as: Art in Public Places, a yearlong sculpture exhibit; Youth in Arts Festival; and Pockets of Perception Design Team Project that involves high school students in designing and producing public art.
As President and then Executive Director of the Dearborn Community Arts Council (DCAC) she helped develop a community gallery for the visual arts, produced an annual concert series, developed partnerships with community schools, developed and co-administered the “Art for Young People” program with Henry Ford Community College, planned and executed two annual art fairs and expanded the DCAC’s fundraising development initiatives. She also was the producer/host of “For Art’s Sake,” a monthly community cable program.
As Cultural Arts Coordinator for the City of Dearborn she helped plan the first city art gallery, and developed or supervised programs including children’s theater, Dearborn Youth Symphony, Vanguard Voices and Brass, Dearborn Community Chorus, and summer art for children.
Woodyard is a graduate of Wayne State University and has served on numerous boards including: ArtServe Michigan, the Wayne County council for Arts, History & Humanities, and Downriver Council for the Arts. She has served on the grant review panels for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the Detroit Bicentennial.
