Little Stitches of Hope

Help us cut and sew dresses
out of pillow cases for the children

Canton Club 55+ is accepting
gently used purses and jewelry items for our annual Jewelry & Purse sale, which is being held on May 10 & 11. This is one of our most popular annual fundraisers. Please drop off any donations to the Club 55+ front desk.

Learning Across Generations: Plants & Conversation
Thursday, May 10, 4:30 p.m.
Club 55+ and the BLOCK Teen and Youth Center are partnering again to learn about the art of gardening and which flowers are best in certain sunlight. Participants will go through the important steps of planting flowers and will leave with their creation. Register by May 3. Fee: $1M¦$1R¦$2NR

National Senior Health & Fitness Day: Wednesday, May 30, 2018
The Senior Summit traditionally presented by Canton Supervisor Pat Williams every September, will now be held this Spring on May 30 - also known as National Senior Health & Fitness Day!

This event will still offer all of the great things our senior adults have come to enjoy, including:

  • Health Screenings
  • Vendor Exhibits
  • Presentations
  • Goody Bags
  • Lunch 
  • Bingo

Nutritional – Congregate Meals
Lunch is served Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.
at the Summit on the Park in the Oak Room.
No charge for ages 60 and older; a suggested donation of $3 is encouraged. There is a $5 fee for ages 60 and younger. Reservations are required by 12 p.m. the day prior; call 394-5485 ext. 1253. Menus available in the Parkview Room.

Mah Jongg Lessons (American)
Tuesdays, May 1 - May 22, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Pole Walking
Tuesdays, May 1-June 5, 11:30-12:30 p.m.

This 6-week class will get you feeling comfortable walking with poles and improve your balance, endurance, strength and posture. Poles are available for participants to use during classes. Walks will take place outside in Heritage Park or at the Summit indoor track. Register online, or in person at Club 55+. Fee: $6M¦$7R¦$9NR

Computer 1 on 1 Appointments

Looking for some help with your laptop, smartphone, or tablet? Club 55+ has partnered with the Canton Public Library to provide 30 minute computer 1-on-1 appointments. Come prepared with your device and questions. For available appointment times, call Club 55+ at 734/394-5485. Fee: $1M¦$1R¦$2NR

Let’s Get Creative
Thursday, May 17, 2:00 p.m.

Get your creative juices flowing. Join us for a make and take workshop. This month we will be making a Beaded Necklace. Register online or at the Canton Club 55+ front desk.

Pickleball Clinic
Thursday May 24, 9:00-11:45 a.m.

Learn to play the fastest growing sport in North America. Pickleball is a mixture of tennis, badminton and ping pong and is a great source of cardio. This beginner clinic is for those looking to learn the basics of the game. Register at Club 55+ front desk and sign a medical wavier prior to participating. Paddles and balls will be provided.

Hospice 101 information Session
Wednesday, June 6, 11:00 a.m.

Discussion topics include: advance directives, DNR's (do not resuscitate orders), and patients’ rights regarding end of life. This is a free information session. Registration is required. Fee: FREE

Introduction To Spanish Class
Mondays, June 4 - August 20, 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Learn something new and keep your brain active! Fee: $35M¦$37R¦$40NR plus $12 manual fee due to the instructor the first class.
