The Village Theater Proudly Presents:Canton Celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. January 21, 2019, 6:30 p.m. (reception 6:00 p.m.)Canton Township and the Commission for Culture, Arts, and Heritage’s annual event will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This special event features a key note speaker, Martin A. Philbert, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Michigan. There will also be a performance by Dodson’s Elementary School Choir. The lobby area will feature paintings and photographs of Dr. King, Jr. and those inspired by his legacy: Jim Aho, Benedict Fernandez (personal photographer of Dr. King, Jr.), John Mullinax, Marco Mancinellin, Chuck Schroeder, and Alga Washington. Tickets are only available at the door: $2/person or $5/family.

Plymouth Christian Academy Theatre presents Thornton Wilder's classic play, "Our Town". In the fictional New Hampshire town of Grover's Corners, we find ordinary American citizens living ordinary lives. Through the eyes of George Gibbs, Emily Webb, and their family, friends, and enemies, we explore the mundane, the fantastic, and the eternal soul. Wilder crafts a thought-provoking and twinkling piece that prompts our important consideration, "Does anyone ever realize life while they live it...every, every minute?" The award-winning Aeolus Quartet is joined by revered clarinetist Franklin Cohen, former principal of the Cleveland Orchestra, for concerts in Grosse Pointe, Canton and Rochester Hills for the inaugural season of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit’s new regional partner series. The program includes Mozart’s beloved Clarinet Quintet plus works by Beethoven and Ben Johnson. Approximate run time: 2½ hrs. Tickets: $10-$45.

The P-CEP Wind Ensemble is honored to be selected to perform at the 14th Annual Michigan Music Conference held on January 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the DeVos Hall in Grand Rapids, MI. Please join Mr. Thomann and the P-CEP Wind Ensemble for a send off performance with guest conductor Prof. Glen Adsit, guest conductor Mr. Mike Wells, and guest artists Dr. Joe Girard. Lights, Camera, Cure - A Benefit Musical CabaretFebruary 6, 7:00 p.m. American Cancer Society
This energetic performance is a fundraiser featuring Broadway tunes, hosted by American Cancer Society in partnership with Women’s Life Society Chapter 827, Chicks for Charity. The performance includes a live, multi-piece band, a cast of over 15 amazingly talented individuals, and special appearances from some local celebs! Dance performances by local studios make for a completely inspirational night! Enjoy a delicious dessert & sweet treats bar featuring Cold Stone Creamery while bidding on the silent auction. A cash bar will be available. All proceeds and donations from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Canton and Plymouth, as they attack cancer from every angle. Pre-show reception 6:00 p.m.: cash bar, dessert bar, ice cream, auction, and photo booth. Approx. run time: 2 hours. Tickets: $12
